{"id":111584,"date":"2024-02-29T15:30:00","date_gmt":"2024-02-29T15:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/interior-news.com\/2024\/02\/29\/public-notice-committee-on-public-safety-wellness\/"},"modified":"2024-02-29T15:30:00","modified_gmt":"2024-02-29T15:30:00","slug":"public-notice-committee-on-public-safety-wellness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/interior-news.com\/2024\/02\/29\/public-notice-committee-on-public-safety-wellness\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Notice &#8211; Committee on Public Safety &amp; Wellness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Town of Smithers Council is seeking four (4) community members at large to fill vacant positions on the newly established Select Committee on Community Safety and Well Being.<\/p>\n<p>The Select Committee will be made up of representatives from the Smithers and District Chamber of Commerce, Smithers Community Services Association, Citizens on Patrol, the Office of the Wet&#8217;suwet&#8217;en, Northern Health, RCMP, Town Staff, and community members at large, who have an interest in community safety and wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Select Committee is to explore, evaluate, and recommend to Council actionable policies, programs, and initiatives aimed at reducing crime and fostering a sense of safety in Smithers.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Select Committee will be appointed by Council for a two-year term and will meet monthly.<\/p>\n<p>Application forms and the complete Terms of Reference are available at the Town Office (1027 Aldous Street) or online (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.smithers.ca\" target=\"_blank\">www.smithers.ca<\/a>).
