{"id":156026,"date":"2025-09-09T20:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T20:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/interior-news.com\/2025\/09\/09\/video-boots-and-batter-kick-off-country-music-week-in-kelowna\/"},"modified":"2025-09-09T20:30:00","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T20:30:00","slug":"video-boots-and-batter-kick-off-country-music-week-in-kelowna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/interior-news.com\/2025\/09\/09\/video-boots-and-batter-kick-off-country-music-week-in-kelowna\/","title":{"rendered":"VIDEO: Boots and batter kick off Country Music Week in Kelowna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cowboy boots have been dusted off and cowboy hats pulled off the rack for Country Music Week in Kelowna.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) has brought the best in Canadian country music for a week of festivities capped off with the CCMA Awards being held Saturday, Sept. 13.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The week started with a community pancake breakfast in the 300 block of Bernard Avenue on Sept. 9.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At 9 a.m., community members were welcomed with drumming and a grand entrance style dance by members of Westbank First Nation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kelowna Mayor Tom Dyas then took the mic to express how proud he is to have Country Music Week in the city.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I know Kelowna is ready to host one of the largest events in country music in Canada, but as I understand it, it is attracting an audience from all over the world,&quot; Dyas stated. &quot;This is an event that&#39;s going to bring recognition to the City of Kelowna as it attracts visitors from all over the world.&quot;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-media-max-width=\"560\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Boots and batter kick off Country Music Week in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Kelowna?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Kelowna<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cityofkelowna?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@cityofkelowna<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Tourism_Kelowna?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Tourism_Kelowna<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CCMAofficial?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@CCMAofficial<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OygmxcYssR\">pic.twitter.com\/OygmxcYssR<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Brittany Webster (@thebrittwebster) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thebrittwebster\/status\/1965512510406361308?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 9, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Tourism Kelowna President and CEO Lisanne&nbsp;Ballantyne echoed the mayor&#39;s excitement to showcase the city.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Tourism and hospitality businesses right across the valley are ready and excited this week to say &#39;Howdy!&#39; and &#39;Come on in,&#39;&quot; Ballantyne said. The industry is ready to look after visitors and locals alike, commenting that a team will be stationed at the Delta Grand Hotel on Water Street to answer questions about the week&#39;s events.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To close out the pancake breakfast, Teigen Gayse pulled out her guitar to serenade the crowd and debut a new song officially coming out later this month. Gayse was nominated in 2024 for Breakthrough Artist or Group of the Year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There&#39;s no shortage of activities happening through to Sept. 13.
