Terrace RCMP are warning businesses and the public to be on the lookout for counterfeit cash circulating in the community.<\/p>\n

On Oct. 29, police received a report about counterfeit money that had been used at local businesses, the RCMP said in a press release. One business had taken the fraudulent bills from a man and later realized they were fake.<\/p>\n

On the same day, a second business reported a man attempting to use counterfeit money, but they did not accept it from him.<\/p>\n

RCMP seized the counterfeit money from one business and said all the bills have the same serial number on them and are marked “Prop Money.”<\/p>\n

Police identified the man and arrested him for possession of counterfeit money, and released him with a court date and conditions.<\/p>\n

An investigation is ongoing, but police intend to submit the results to the BC Prosecution Service for consideration of charge approval.<\/p>\n

The RCMP wants to remind the public, especially business owners, to be aware of this incident, know the signs of counterfeit money, and report any incidents to police.<\/section><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
