{"id":159722,"date":"2025-10-30T01:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T08:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/interior-news.com\/2025\/10\/30\/thief-remains-behind-bars\/"},"modified":"2025-10-30T01:30:00","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T08:30:00","slug":"thief-remains-behind-bars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/interior-news.com\/2025\/10\/30\/thief-remains-behind-bars\/","title":{"rendered":"Thief remains behind bars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man who was arrested after Smithers RCMP located a vehicle linked to a prohibited driver on Sept. 29 will remain behind bars.<\/p>\n<p>Following a traffic stop, a further investigation discovered stolen items and led to two separate files and multiple charges for Morgan Redlack of Smithers.<\/p>\n<p>Police observed the suspect allegedly driving while prohibited. He was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with driving while disqualified and resisting\/obstructing a peace officer, as well as under the Motor Vehicle Act for driving while prohibited\/suspended.<\/p>\n<p>A search of the vehicle led to a search warrant being executed at a trailer on Monkton Road the following day.<\/p>\n<p>Police recovered an estimated $10,000 in stolen property, including an e-bike, guitar, and Patagonia waders.
