A new feature at the annual Northern Lights Wildlife Shelter Canada open house was results from the new black bear rewilding GPS collar program.

Bovill Square was the centre of Canada Day celebrations in Smithers on July 1. Face painting, live music, poutine and ice cream were all on hand. The corner of Main Street and Broadway was closed to traffic and the streets were filled with people celebrating.

The Northern Lights Wildlife Shelter's Canada Day open house also attracted huge crowds.
