The mid-’90s percussion phenomenon Stomp returns to a Vancouver stage for a run of four shows mid-November.
A North American tour celebrates 30 years of the London-launched production, which sees (and hears) performers make rhythms out of anything and everything — synchronized stiff-bristle brooms, Zippo lighters flipping open and shut, wooden poles pounding, dust bins, boots, hub caps and more.
Queen Elizabeth Theatre is where Stomp will romp again from Nov. 14-16, when co-creators Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas will be in town with the company of performers.
Stomp now tours globally after its early start as street performance. The show’s unique rhythms have been enjoyed by fans in more than 350 cities around the world, according to a post on stomponline.com, where tickets are sold (or visit ticketmaster.ca for a direct link to Vancouver dates).
